  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preparation

  • In a large pot, combine chicken broth and water.
  • Add diced chicken, carrots, celery, and onion.
  • Bring to a boil and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 15 minutes.

Dumpling Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and melted butter until a dough forms.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the boiling soup.
  • Cover and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

To store Chicken Dumpling Soup, let it cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If freezing, it lasts for up to 3 months. Add water or broth when reheating if dumplings absorb too much liquid.
