Preparation

  • Slice the russet potato into thin chips.
  • Soak the potato slices in cold water with ice for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F or the air fryer to 400°F.
  • Drain and pat dry the potato slices.
  • Lightly spray the slices with oil and sprinkle with your chosen seasoning.

Cooking

  • If using the oven, bake for 12-15 minutes until crispy, making sure to leave space between each chip.
  • If using an air fryer, cook for 10-12 minutes.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Cut the potato slices as evenly as possible to ensure they cook evenly. Experiment with different seasonings for variety. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet or air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
