Ingredients
  

Rice Preparation

  • 2 cups sushi rice Rinse until water runs clear.
  • 2.5 cups water For cooking the sushi rice.
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar Helps flavor the rice.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Balances flavors.

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh salmon, cooked and flaked Can be substituted with shrimp or crab.
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Adds creaminess.
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce Adjust to taste for spiciness.
  • 1 cup nori sheets, cut into strips For topping.
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Rinse the sushi rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  • In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.
  • In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  • Once the rice is cooked, remove it from heat and stir in the vinegar mixture. Let cool.

Mixing

  • In another bowl, mix the flaked salmon, mayonnaise, and sriracha sauce together.

Baking

  • In a baking dish, spread the cooled sushi rice evenly on the bottom.
  • Layer the salmon mixture on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until heated through.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  • Top with nori strips, green onions, and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in fresh herbs like cilantro or mint. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
